Tracy Staten, Clinical Therapist Intern

About Tracy

Hi, I’m Tracy. As a counselor-in-training, I’m honored to walk alongside clients during times of growth and transition. I believe therapy is a space where you can feel seen, heard, and supported while exploring who you are and who you want to become. Above all, I want clients to know they don’t have to walk their journey alone. In our work, you’ll find a compassionate space to explore, heal, and grow into the version of yourself that feels most aligned and empowered.

Service Rate & Insurance

Tracy’s services are offered at a reduced rate of $50 per therapy session. No insurance is able to be utilized.

Focus Areas & Specialties

I work with clients who are navigating emotional regulation, identity exploration, life transitions, and challenges that impact self-trust and confidence. I also have specialized training and focus in eating disorders, disordered eating, and body-based approaches to healing.

Therapeutic Training & Background

I am a Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate student at the University of the Cumberlands, working under the supervision of Carmen Buis, MSW, LCSW. I am in training in both Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RO-DBT) and the specialization of eating disorders. Before beginning my journey to become a therapist, I spent more than 17 years teaching and coaching in the fields of dance and gymnastics. I am also certified in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), which has shaped the way I help people shift patterns of thinking and create meaningful, lasting change.

Professional Style

My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in curiosity. Clients who work with me often find themselves uncovering new perspectives, letting go of old beliefs that no longer serve them, and building a stronger sense of self-trust. Together, we focus on developing tools for emotional regulation, navigating life’s challenges with more confidence, and reconnecting with authentic identity. I also enjoy integrating movement and awareness of the body into the healing process.
